The Food

Patlican

Patlican (lamb and aubergine stew) served with basmati rice with orzo, red onion and dill salad and Maast O Khiar (yoghurt dip). We are never eating plain old rice again after tasting this dish of orzo browned in butter then rice is added and both cooked together in stock.

The yoghurt has sultanas mixed in which is surprisingly subtle, but when you find a little jewel it sets off the sweetness of the slow cooked lamb beautifully.

Big Itzik

Honeyandco's Big Itzik is a winner in our house. Chargrilled aubergines, peppers and onion in olive oil, lemon juice, white wine vinegar, parsley and mint. My husband is not a fan of aubergine and peppers and devoured his bowl and declared this is the most delicious dish he's ever eaten. I'll take that means he likes it!
